Privacy policy

This is a courtesy translation of the German original. In the event of any discrepancy, the German version at purposeinprogress.de/datenschutz.html prevails.

This website is a static information page. It sets no cookies, embeds no third-party content and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services whatsoever. The following sets out, in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR, the processing of personal data that nevertheless cannot be avoided.

1. Controller

The controller for data processing on this website is:
Janosch N. Stolle (PURPOSE IN PROGRESS)
Email: hi@purposeinprogress.de

A data protection officer is not required by law, as the conditions of Art. 37 GDPR and § 38 BDSG are not met.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website runs on a rented virtual server operated by netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany. The server is located in Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

When you access this website, the web server collects technically necessary access data and stores it in what are known as log files:

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless operation and security of the systems and in defending against attacks. Log files are deleted automatically after seven days at the latest. This data is not combined with other data sources. Referrer information is not recorded.

3. No cookies, no tracking

No cookies are set and no comparable technologies such as local storage or fingerprinting are used. There is no audience measurement, no profiling and no automated decision-making. For this reason, no consent banner is required.

4. Fonts

The typeface “Open Sans” (SIL Open Font License 1.1) is served exclusively from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external provider, and your IP address is therefore not transmitted to any third party.

5. Contact by email

This website contains no contact form. If you write to us at the email address provided, we process the data you send us (your email address, your name and the content of your message) solely in order to deal with your enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message is directed at concluding a contract. Your message will be deleted once your enquiry has been dealt with conclusively and no statutory retention obligations apply. Please note that unencrypted email may be read by third parties in transit.

6. Encryption

This website is delivered exclusively over a TLS-encrypted connection (HTTPS). Requests made over HTTP are redirected to HTTPS automatically.

7. Your rights

You have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:

An informal message to the email address given above is sufficient to exercise these rights.

Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR

Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object to that processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or unless the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).

8. Currency of this policy

This privacy policy applies in the version published here. Should the scope of this website be extended, the policy will be amended accordingly.
